We currently have over 500,000 children in our broken foster care system, and all are at extremely high risk...

  • Almost 80% of inmates incarcerated in our prisons have spent time in foster care.

  • 40-50% of former foster youth become homeless within 18 months after leaving care.

  • 60% of youth earn incomes below the poverty line.

  • 65% of children in foster care experience seven or more school changes from elementary to high school.

  • Only 1-3% graduate from college.

  • 25% of foster youth will be in prison within two years of emancipation.

  • It costs an average of $47,000 per year to incarcerate an inmate in California.

  • Four of five (80 percent) young women become pregnant too soon.

  • 32% of foster children are between the ages of 0 and 5

  • 28% of foster children are between the ages of 6 and 12

  • 40% of foster children are between the ages of 13 and 21

  • Average # of birthdays a child spends in foster care: 2(28 months)

  • They are diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at six times the general population and double the rate of veterans returning from war.

  • Eight of ten (81 percent) males have been arrested compared to 17 percent of their peers who were not in foster care.

  • California has twice as many foster children as any other state -- 60,000.

In 2012, U.S. authorities received more than 3.3 million reports of abuse, representing about 6 million children, or 8% of the child population. From those reports, after investigation and intervention, about 400,000 children were placed in foster care, and of those, nearly 60,000 were permanently taken away from their families of origin.

  1. Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers shared the oft-uttered words with media during a Wednesday Zoom video conference call. He’s been saying them for years. This day, they were on his.
  2. During the Late Classical Period, Philip of Macedon united warring city-states. After his assassination, Alexander the Great, his son assumed the throne. In 168 BCE, after the defeat of Macedonia, Roman Republic took over Greece.
  3. A group called the Council of 500 decided what would be discussed at each assembly meeting. Council members were chosen from the assembly each year by drawing names from a bowl. Many other government officials, as well as the jury members for court cases, were also chosen this way.

It is well known that children entering foster care are likely to experience several changes in placement. Pardeck (1984) found that 22% of children had three or more placements during a median length of 2.5 years in foster care. Millham, Bullock, Hosie, and Haak (1986) report that after 2 years in care 56% of children had three or more placements and Kufeldt, Armstrong, and Dorosh (1989) report that 48% of children had three or more placements during a median length of stay of 4 years.

Tom Brady's gotten into a pretty good habit — when he wins a Super Bowl, he lets his kids hold the Lombardi Trophy.

When your father's a six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, it just means a few more chances with the silver prize than basically anyone else. Past photographs of Super Bowl parades through the streets of Boston show Brady holding a child holding the trophy.

More recently, Brady went viral for a postgame hug with one of his sons after the Buccaneers advanced to Super Bowl 55 to face the Chiefs.

Aside from the whole football G.O.A.T. thing, though, Brady has some of the same fatherly concerns as anyone else.

“Jack is just like me — he holds a lot in,' Brady said, according to The Sun. 'Benny lets it all out. Vivi, she doesn’t care. They’re going to be their own selves, not who you want them to be.”

Jack Brady

John 'Jack' Edward Brady is Brady's oldest child. He was born in 2007 to Brady's ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, and he turned 13 in August 2020.

Jack's most-recent public appearance came after the Buccaneers won the 2021 NFC title game. Brady went toward the stands behind his bench and asked a security guard if he could see his son. That was Jack coming down to embrace Brady.

According to Parade, Bundchen embraced Jack as her own son soon after he was born: “I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he’s my son, from the first day.”

Multiple stories indicate that Jack takes after his dad, and Brady himself spoke about that in 2019.

“Jack is just like me—he holds a lot in,” Brady said in an interview with Men’s Health. “Jack loves sports. He wants to try hard, and he never wants to disappoint his dad. That was me. I’d wake up early on weekends to do stuff with my dad. That’s why I didn’t party a lot. If Dad wanted to golf, I wanted to be there with him. And if I ever missed those things, it would crush me.”

Benjamin Brady

Benjamin Brady (pictured at top) was born in 2009 to Brady and Bundchen. Brady's younger son, who he has called 'Benny' before in interviews, turned 11 in December 2020.

Unlike Jack, Benjamin isn't into sports.

“When Benny came along, I thought he would be just like Jack,' Brady told Men's Health. 'So I was like, ‘C’mon, let’s do this.’ And he was like, ‘Nope.’ And I was like, ‘What? No, do this!’ And Gisele kept saying to me, ‘Would you effing understand that your son is different?’ It was hard for me.'

Brady's now had plenty of time to figure out what Benjamin's 'things' are, he told Men's Health. And his son even thinks he's funny.

'He’s like, ‘OMG, Dad, you’re so funny,’' Brady told Men's Health. 'He loves joking, and I joke back.”

Vivian Brady

Vivian Lake Brady is the only daughter among Brady's three children, and she's also the youngest (born in 2012). Based on Brady's past comments, he definitely embraces being a #girldad.

'It’s the worst–well, it’s not the worst for me,' Brady told Entertainment Tonight in 2016. 'I think it’s the worst for my wife who’s trying to instill some discipline in her and I just give her whatever she wants. But isn’t that what men are supposed to do for daughters? Yeah, there’s princesses, and My Little Pony dolls, and it’s just the cutest thing ever.”

Vivian turned 8 in December 2020. She's a frequent subject of Bundchen's Instagram posting, including when mom and daughter did yoga together in a post that went semi-viral.
